C2C’s mission focuses on candidates for the NC Legislature (NC House and NC Senate). Why?

• The NC Legislature is one of the most powerful state legislatures in the nation, and it makes decisions that affect our lives every day. Access to abortion. Funding public schools. Mandating Fair Wages. And more.

• NC Democratic voters have a high propensity for “ballot drop off,” meaning they vote for President and Governor, and then stop because they are unfamiliar with other candidates. Raising awareness prevents ballot dropoff and can help propel votes for the NC Legislature, but also for statewide offices like NC Supreme Court and Superintendent of Public Schools.

• People are often compelled to come out and vote for local candidates that they know even if they are disenchanted with top-of-the-ticket races. And when they come out to vote for candidates for NC House and NC Senate, they vote UP BALLOT, generating additional votes for Josh Stein and Kamala Harris.
