ABOUT Woodson
Woodson is a mom, wife, business owner, community leader, and tireless volunteer. She is the daughter of a career public school teacher and social worker who went on to work in the Juvenile Court System. Community Service is how she grew up, who she is now, and what her new family is known for. Her entire life has been dedicated to public service, volunteerism, advocacy, and being a community leader.
Woodson graduated from Hollins University in 1995 with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. She also studied Environmental Economics abroad at the University of Sydney in Australia and worked as an elementary teacher through a Rotary Service Project in Lucea Bay, Jamaica. She understands the importance of business growth and public service and more importantly, why they should go hand-in-hand.

NC Senate District 42 encompasses NC’s largest city, Charlotte, as well as a portion of Mecklenburg County. As one of the most populous and influential areas in North Carolina, this district holds significant weight in state politics. Mecklenburg County, with its mix of urban and suburban neighborhoods, plays a crucial role in shaping the social and economic landscape of the district. Representing the interests of this dynamic region requires an understanding of the complex issues facing both the city and the county, from economic development and education to healthcare and infrastructure.
