PHONE SCRIPTS

Here are suggested scripts for calling volunteers and asking them to participate in phone banks and canvasses, or confirming their attendance if they have already signed up. Feel free to use these as a base but tailor them to make them your own.

EMAILS

Below are suggested, sample emails to use when thanking volunteers who participated in a canvass or phone bank. Feel free to tailor them to make them your own.


2024: Please send a personal email to everyone who makes calls or canvasses, instead of a group email. See script below.

For group emails, here are complete instructions on how to use the Thank You Email.

Things to Remember:

  • The day following an event, someone from the VRE Leadership Team will send you the names of volunteers who showed up and participated. The thank you email needs only go to these volunteers.

  • Every week thereafter, you will receive a list of people who have made additional calls on the phone bank. They will also need a thank you email.

  • When you click on the links below for the Thank You email template, Google will force you to make a copy of the document to work from. (Details in full instructions above).

  • You can find the email addresses for volunteers in the VELcro Worksheet for your event.

  • Feel free to customize the email to reflect your personality; these scripts indicate the basic information you should convey, but make it your own.
